July 2015
Summer never begins early enough and always ends too soon.
- Peter Gzowski
Summer has arrived bringing sunny days by the dock. The days are full of swimming, canoeing and hiking and evenings are spent relaxing with a book or champion ping pong in the games room. We’ve so much to tell you! Read below for some sneak previews. Please don’t wait too long to book! We’d love to welcome you back!
Sincerely, Theresa, David & Adam And all of us at Arowhon Pines, Algonquin Park
AROWHON RENOVATIONS
This was definitely a labour of love all winter to carefully blend the rustic, comfortable charm of the familiar with clean, crisp, new colour and fun - in the rooms and lounges.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our designer friends (and Arowhon guests for 20 years who “get us”), Tim Webb and Dave Campbell, owners of
- a market destination for home décor, up-cycled antiques, art, collectibles and gifts – and well worth the drive into Gravenhurst. They bravely and lovingly answered our call for help. We could not be more delighted with everything – and P.S. - there is still more to come!

NEW DATE FOR ANNUAL AUGUST BARBECUE
It is soon time for Arowhon’s 5th annual Civic Holiday Weekend Barbecue – there are still some chairs available by the lake. This is when our team of cooks, headed by our chef, David Cooke, step outside for the afternoon and cook up a feast using only local products from within 100 miles. Guests can meet the farmers and suppliers, enjoy some local art and music and see our monarch butterfly gardens.
This year’s date is SUNDAY, AUGUST 2nd, 2015! Here are some photos from last year! $ 35 per person – please give us a call or email us.
P.S. If you wish to get David talking, ask him about our homemade salamis and prosciutto – curing in our kitchen and ready for the fall!
