The quiet of winter gives Algonquin an even more magical beauty. Cross-country skis will soon be the only path into Arowhon’s world of white. Our work is done for now. It’s remarkable all that has been done in four months. There’s a sparkling new kitchen built from the bottom up – the chef is very happy! The office has a real entranceway.
Waynewood has new old barnboard flooring and a much anticipated screened-in porch - we’ve kept the open deck too! You’ll notice more changes in Lakeview, Cedarview, Hilltop, Birchview and other rooms. We are accepting bookings for The LK this year.

Arowhon specializes in unforgettable birthday, family reunion and anniversary celebrations, as well as small and intimate weddings. Families and friends gather in the cabin lounge or relax on the deck by the lake. Savour delicious meals in our rustic log dining room. Spend the days exploring by canoe or take a walk in the woods looking for moose. Sail. Play tennis. Ping pong anyone? Relax.

The greatest luxury today may well be the ability to truly drop off the grid. When you put away your gadgets, we assure you that you’ll feel free and more content. An Arowhon holiday is when family bonds are strengthened while day tripping by canoe, enjoying picnic lunches at a campsite along the shore and swimming in the lake. Conversations at meal times will be with heads up, full of laughter and love. Because you’re outside all day, you’ll sleep like a baby. Happily, we provide no televisions, no telephones and no WIFI. Cell reception is sporadic. (There are two house phones on the grounds and a secret bunker with laptop for emergencies.) This is real life.
